Feb15-

Launch request from Aberdeen C/G at 1150hrs,Thurso lifeboat manned and launched at 1200hrs to search for a missing woman between Holborn Hd lighthouse and the Clett Rock.Lifeboat just cleared the harbour and launched the Yboat with Kevin Davidson and Steven Omand aboard to search the coastline, geo`s and caves round the coast to the Clett Rock.                                                                     

The Taylors was tasked to search the coast west to Brims Ness on a 1/4nm search pattern,alternating east to west and viseversa in conjunction with Rescue137 the Lossiemouth SAR chopper. This continued with a land and sea search until 1600hrs when the search was called off by Aberdeen C/G/

Feb15-

Launch request from Aberdeen C/G at 1925hrs to search the east side of Thurso bay for the same missing person on the Murkle shore where a dog team was getting strong signals that the dogs had detected something. Boat launched and on scene at 1935hrs and a shoreline search began in area using the Yboat ,searchlights and white paraflares with no success after 3 hrs and stood down at 2230hrs.

01July09

Launched by Aberdeen C/g to assist a RIB at the Kyle o Tongue but was stood down as we arrived at eilean nan rhon,a local fishing boat had towed casualty to scullomie harbour,

04Aug09

Launched by Aberdeen C/G to investigate a sighting of Red flares off Durness.Area searched with assistance of Durness team but nothing found.Returned to Scrabster some 6 hours later.

28/29Aug09

Launched to assist a yacht named Adenty in trouble at Rispond harbour .Arrived on scene to find Adenty fouled on creel rope outside Rispond in westerly gale.Launched y boat with James Brims and Kevin Davidson aboard and took the one man crew off the yacht.When daylight came in the weather had eased and the Yboat and crewman went back aboard Adenty and cut her free and berthed safely in Rispond harbour .Lifeboat returned to base after some 11 hours on service.

4Sept09

Launched to assist surfer in Melvich bay but stood down enroute.

21Sept09

Launched to assist surfer in Naver Bay but stood down enroute.

07/08Oct09

Missing person reported but not identified as being in the water but at the request of police and coastguard the  Lifeboat searched the Thurso and Dunnet bay area`s for 2 hours on both days with nothing found.

Thurso Lifeboat "The Taylors" was withdrawn from service for its first 5 year refit and was replaced by a relief boat ON1278 "The Duke of Kent"

18Oct09....

FV Hoyvikingur lost all power at Holburn Hd,launched to assist harbour launch Venture tow vessel to harbour, stood by while vessel safely berthed.

23Oct09....

FV Hoyvikingur departed scrabster after repairs and again lost power at Holburn Hd.Lifeboat launched and vessel taken under tow back to scrabster and safelt berthed.dejavue 

25Dec09....

Launched by Aberdeen c/g to investigate reports of red flares 0.5nm east of Holburn Hd. Thurso Lifeboat launched at 2200hrs and carried out a full coastline search from Spear point to Scrabste and a full expanding square search of Thurso Bay with nothing found.Stood down at 2330hrs.Merry Xmas.
